Ihsahn is currently in the studio recording his first new full-length album since Àmr in 2018. And yeah, we had the Telemark and Pharos EPs in 2020 which were great, but it’s time for a new full-length Ihsahn album and that’s pretty damn exciting. All we know so far is the new album features drumming from frequent Ihsahn drummers Tobias Ørnes Andersen (Shining, ex-Leprous), Tobias Øymo Solbakk (In Vain), and Ihsahn‘s own son Angell Tveitan.
“Finished recording all drums and percussion for my forthcoming album,” said Ihsahn in an Instagram post. “Amazing performances by Tobias Ørnes Andersen and Tobias Øymo Solbakk [and] Angell Tveitan got to join in some overdubs too!”
Despite the absence of solo material in recent years, Ihsahn has been plenty busy with Trivium‘s Matt Heafy on their collaborative project Ibaraki, as well as with Emperor‘s recent shows.
