Zendaya and Tom Holland have a lot more to do with Rhianna than you might think. Not only is everyone in this equation extremely talented, but Zendaya gave a nod to Tom Holland over Rihanna’s halftime show.
The couple stared in a lip sync battle that aired in 2017, in which Holland would parody “Singin’ in the Rain” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” Zendaya, would perform Bruno Mars’s “24k Magic,” and this would also get rave reviews. In the months leading up to the Super Bowl, Rihanna fans speculated that she would bring some surprise guests onstage—with rumored performers including Jay-Z, Pharrell, and Eminem. Fans of Tom, however, wondered if the special guest might be Holland.
As reported by Buzzfeed. Rihanna would ultimately perform solo, but Zendaya still managed to pay tribute to her boyfriend’s epic performance on Instagram.
On Instagram Stories, Zendaya shared a photo of Rihanna performing at the halftime show, followed by a picture of herself in awe watching Holland perform “Umbrella” on Lip Sync Battle. Fans would be really astonished by this as the post would gain tons of traction, and of course, outlets would write about it giving it a lot more traction.
Rihanna’s performance was not overshadowed, however, as while Tom did get a ton of praise from his fans – Rihanna just did such an amazing job at the Super Bowl. Many have even stated that the show was the best one done in many years. While Tom Brady has not spoken on Rihanna’s show, he did say that the Janet Jackson incident is still something that brought a lot of eyes to the NFL.
