The Cab, ‘Road To Reign: A Prelude’ | Track By Track

Ahead of their appearance at When We Were Young Festival this weekend, The Cab guide us track by track through their new EP ‘Road To Reign: A Prelude’, out now.

Pain

“Pain was a great opportunity for us to push the band sonically and to take a few risks. We always want to honor the past sound of the band while thrusting it into the future simultaneously. You can’t feel the glory without feeling the pain first.”

Rollercoaster

“A sonic road trip summing up on how it feels to have taken a ten year hiatus and how good it feels to be back together. It really is a love letter to the fans and a funky ride through the feelings of getting to perform together for the fans again.”

Every Little Lie

“A nod to some of our favorite “non-rock” influences, it was a blast to paint this song with harmonies and vocal layerings. A song about vicious heartbreak, we really wanted to mix all of our genre influences into one piece of work.”

Stay This Way Forever

“You never realize you’re in the good ol’ days while you’re in the good ol’ days. Sometimes the best days are when you’re sleeping in a van, touring the country with your best friends, and scraping to get by. This track is about the best days of our lives when we were just happy to be in a band with our best friends and being road dogs seeing the world.”
