Simon Neil and Mike Vennart have announced the debut Empire State Bastard album, ‘Rivers Of Heresy’, which is set for release on September 01.
The news follows the release of the band’s intense debut single ‘Harvest’ in March and an instantly sold-out headline tour.
The ten-track alt-metal album will of course offer fans a fuller flavour of the Empire State Bastard project, which was first announced at the end of last year.
As well as Biffy Clyro’s Neil and Oceansize’s Vennart, the project is completed by Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo on drums, with Bitch Falcon bassist Naomi Macleod joining the outfit for their heady live shows.
Describing the new album Vennart has said: “I set about making the most fucking poisonous vile music I possibly could, just unabridged hatred in musical form.”
Simon Neil, meanwhile, has added: “Lyrically, it’s as misanthropic and nihilistic as I’ve ever written.”
