Jim Carrey Received Gift From Chris Cornell

It was seven years back after Chris Cornell passed away, actor Jim Carrey took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late Soundgarden frontman. The popular actor went on to share that Cornell and the rest of the band gifted him a signed guitar. In May 1996, Carrey and Soundgarden also shared the stage on Saturday Night Live as the host and musical guest, respectively. Following the show, the band presented him with the guitar – the same guitar that Cornell played that night on SNL.

The band and the actor were featured in one of the episodes of “Saturday Night Live” and the band perform two tracks off their Down on the Upside album – “Burden in My Hand” and “Pretty Noose”.

After Cornell’s death, Carrey tweeted a photo of the guitar and captioned it: “This is the guitar that Chris Cornell and Soundgarden gave to me the night we did ‘SNL’ together. A very special man.”
