Furnace Fest 2023 will take place between September 23 and 24 at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL, and things just got a lot proggier. The festival has added Between The Buried And Me to their lineup, making the total band count five at the moment. The other four are:

• Training For Utopia‘s first show in 24 years
• The Callous Daoboys
• Gorilla Biscuits
• Foreign Hands

As Between The Buried And Me and the festival points out, their appearance at Furnace Fest is their first since 2002. “The first time I heard of Between The Buried And Me was via someone in Underoath,” said Furnace Fest organizers. “Twenty-ish years ago, one of them, possibly all of them, was raving about this brain-numbingly technical, brutally heavy, new band from North Carolina. Sadly, I missed their set in 2002: a mistake I will not repeat come 2023.”
