Pierce The Veil have released their first new music in six years, and it’s an absolute belter.
It’s time.
Pierce The Veil are back with their first brand new music since 2016’s full-length ‘Misadventures’, and they continue to march to the beat of their own drum.
It’s called ‘Pass The Nirvana’ and takes cues from Nirvana as well, with grunge-riddled chords and slippery vocals. But that doesn’t mean that this is a revival track, as that PTV flair for the dark and dramatic peaks through the cracks, with harsh howls and headbang-ready intensity.
It’s a firm reminder that Pierce The Veil are still unlike any other band out there, and that sentiment is carrying them into a fascinating and furious future.
Vocalist Vic Fuentes had this to say about the track’s themes:
“‘Pass the Nirvana’ is about the many horrible traumas that the youth of America have endured over the past few years. COVID, no proms, no graduations, an insurrection, school shootings. The list goes on. Their lives have been tossed around like clothes in a dryer, as the tensions within our country have infiltrated our own homes, friends, and families. To me, the song represents a euphoric detachment from all of that anxiety and stress and about finding some form of peace or nirvana.”
Enough talk, time to get stuck in:
Pierce The Veil are set to tour the UK at the end of 2022, with support coming from Against The Current and carolesdaughter.
