Skindred Announce ‘Smile (Again)’ UK Tour

Skindred are set to make us all ‘Smile (Again)’ after announcing a UK headline tour for autumn this year.

Skindred OVO Wembley Arena

Benji Webbe and co. are riding high from their recent touring efforts, including their date at London’s OVO Arena Wembley show, in support of their ‘Smile’ album, which peaked at Number 2 in the charts.

And now they’ve announced they’ll be hitting the road once more this year, with a string of shows across the UK throughout October and early November.

The tour will begin in Hull before dates that include Glasgow, Liverpool, Leicester and more, wrapping-up with a night in Oxford on November 02.

These will come after a huge summer of festivals, with the Welsh ragga metallers set to play Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, Glastonbury’s Avalon Stage and Dead Pop Festival in Japan.

Speaking about the forthcoming tour, Benji Webbe has said with his typical exuberance:

“Myself and my Brothers in Skindred are so excited to be heading back out on the road in the UK.

“We have had nothing but amazing vibes since we dropped our album Smile and due to the amount of messages we have received we head back out to some of our favourite hotspots in the UK to mash it up again in the way only Skindred can.

“This heavy metal punk rock reggae sound system is about to rock ya all even more. You might of heard the songs but I swear our live show is some next level energy ting brov, so grab your tickets & your helicopter propels & get involved in this Dred extravaganza.

“To the older Dredites & the new let’s bring the magic like only Skindred do. The Unity Sound rings true. So you know what to do.”

In Rock Sound’s review of Skindred’s Wembley show in March, we wrote:

“It hasn’t always been this plain-sailing, as Skindred’s larger-than-life frontman Benji Webbe would remind us.

““When it’s tough you just keep fucking going,” he declared, donning a full-body leather jacket and spiked sunglasses. “Well, we stayed in the fight and that’s why we’re in fucking Wembley tonight.””

“This remark would be the night’s epitaph, as we revelled in the road that had led the MOBO-winning band to this point.

“Such an occasion might overwhelm some, drown them out at their biggest show to date, but you felt not even the Welsh national rugby team could remove Benji from his post, from the moment he entered and (quite literally) planted his blacked-out Union Jack flag onstage.”
