‘We got ran off the beach from the tsunami warning last minute, grabbed the dog and headed up country cause you couldn’t go any other direction. Traffic was already stopped!’

The musician went on to express gratitude for the hospitality he and other evacuees received during the emergency situation.

‘Saw The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua pulled in no reservations, they took care of us and a lot of other displaced beach nuts,’ he continued. ‘This is not an infomercial post. This is an honest thank you for the hospitality and beauty second to none.’

Officials have activated Black Hawk helicopters and high-water vehicles to assist with potential rescue operations. The emergency response demonstrated the state’s readiness to handle potential tsunami threats. Authorities took no chances despite the uncertainty of wave arrival times.
