JUDAS PRIEST To Release A New Album Called Invincible Shield In March 2024

Judas Priest has finally unveiled some information about their long-awaited new record. According to a listing on the Judas Priest website, the band has a new record called Invincible Shield due out on March 8, 2024. The listing for Invincible Shield includes Glenn Tipton as playing guitar on the record, which is great news – Tipton has been sidelined due to Parkinson’s for the past few years, but has been making appearances on stage when he can. Or as the listing states, “Judas Priest is Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Glenn Tipton, Scott Travis and Richie Faulkner.”

Pre-orders for Invincible Shield are available here (and here in the US) in a dizzying array of configurations. One of which is a massive box set featuring two vinyl editions with both the regular and alternate covers, the regular and deluxe CD vesions, a picture disc, cassette, and a 7″ with three exclusive bonus tracks. Nothing else is known at this time, but it’s probably safe to assume that all shall be revealed very soon.

In a May 2023 interview with Brave Words, Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner said Invincible Shield has a few more musical twists than its predecessor Firepower.

“It’s the same band, so it’s the same DNA,” he said. “But it doesn’t sound like the last record – it sounds like its own album, as they should. It’s exciting. It’s got a few more twists and turns musically – than the last record had. It’s by no means a Rush record, but it’s got a few more twists and turns and musical journeys.”
