Eddie Vedder Parties With Adam Sandler

While speaking in a recent interview, David Spade talked about attending a birthday party on Saturday, where he saw Adam Sandler. The party was for Eddie Vedder’s 60th birthday, and the Pearl Jam singer performed. Spade praised Vedder, noting his impressive voice and kind nature. With that said, Scott Stapp was also honored by Eddie Vedder insults.

Spade mentioned that he doesn’t see Adam often. When they are both in town, which is rare, they will go golfing. On this occasion, Spade wondered if Eddie Vedder might join the ’80s band performing at the party. Adam joked about Spade singing “American Girl” by Tom Petty, but Spade said he doesn’t sing. Adam then joked that he might sing with the band, possibly doing some AC/DC, and mentioned that Spade was assigned to sing Tom Petty, which Spade thought was a joke.

Spade described himself as a regular clown, lacking the extra talents that someone like Sandler has. He arrived at the party a bit nervous but felt it was fashionably late, as he thought the party started at 6 p.m. but showed up at 7 p.m. The party was held at their manager’s large Malibu backyard and was already packed.

Upon arrival, Spade saw Ringo Starr, which was exciting. Despite the fun, the evening became emotional, and by 9:30 p.m., only about 30 people remained. The cold weather made it less enjoyable, and Spade decided to leave quietly to avoid drawing attention. He initially intended to stay but left after learning Eddie wasn’t going to perform. The next day, Adam told him that about an hour after he left, the singing started, and the party continued until around 4 or 5 a.m.

“I went to a birthday party on Saturday and actually saw Adam that day. The party was for Eddie’s 60th birthday, and Pearl Jam was there. Eddie Vedder, who was on SNL back in the day, was very sweet, and of course, we’re all fans. He has one of the best voices out there and is a great guy.

I don’t see Adam that often; people think we hang out all the time, but when we’re both in town, which is rare, we’ll go golfing. That day, I mentioned there would be an ’80s band at the party and wondered if Eddie would join them. Adam joked that I should get up and sing ‘American Girl’ by Tom Petty, but I said I don’t sing. Adam said he might sing with the band, possibly some AC/DC, and then jokingly told me I was assigned to sing Tom Petty. I insisted I wasn’t singing, but Adam said it was on the list, so I was supposed to sing. It was obviously a joke because I can’t sing, but I said I’d embarrass myself if I had to. I’m just a regular clown, not like Sandler who can do everything. I don’t have the extras.

I arrived at the party a bit nervous but thought it started at 6, which is early for a party. I showed up at 7, feeling like I was fashionably late, but the place was already packed. It was at our rich manager’s backyard in Malibu.

When I got there, the first person I saw was Ringo Starr, which was cool. I had a great time, but it eventually turned into tears and nostalgia. By 9:30, only about 30 people were left, and it was freezing outside with heat lamps set up. Gert’s backyard is huge, next to his tennis court. I decided to sneak out quietly because I didn’t want to make a scene. I just wanted to leave without drawing attention.

I was tempted to stay, but then someone told me Eddie wasn’t singing, so I left. The next day, Adam said that about an hour after I left, they started singing. Of course, it ended up going on until around 4 or 5 a.m.”
