The dust settles. The imagination starts making plans again.

Burning Man has announced Spellbound as its 2027 art theme. In the September 7 announcement, Stuart Mangrum frames the coming year around wonder, enchantment and the creative power of participation. The accompanying theme illustration is by Cory and Catska Ench, with concept collaboration from DA Tinio.

This is a look ahead, not an attempt to turn the difficult parts of the 2026 event into scenery. Our earlier report addressed that year’s art and sobering ending. Here, we are following the creative thread into the next chapter.

Two performances for the screen

RAMPUE, live PA, 2025: Mayan Warrior’s official recording gives us an artist-led electronic performance to spend time with, rather than another fifteen-second glimpse of the lights.

WhoMadeWho, hybrid DJ set, 2024: This official Mayan Warrior film offers a different performance format for the same home-screen expedition.

Both are archival selections, not newly verified 2026 sets. We have linked the original uploads so the performers and production receive the attention.

For us, that is the best version of a watchlist: open a window into someone else’s creative world, make room to move, and come away curious about how it was made.
