Mick Mars is a renowned guitarist in the music world. He has a lot of courage, but his Ankylosing Spondylitis has worsened. Mick won’t be able to continue touring with his band Mötley Crüe. The band members have accepted the situation, and continue to do the tour without him.
Mick had some sensational music to play. With him no longer in the tour, someone else will have to step in to take care of the business. Mötley Crüe has called in the rocker John 5 of Marilyn Manson. John 5 has graciously accepted the offer, but calls it tough shoes to fill in.
I am honoured to carry on Mick’s legacy and am looking forward to playing these songs.
Mötley Crüe also understands the situation and has accepted as well as respected Mick Mars’ decision. The band released a statement regarding the same which read
While change is never easy, we accept Mick’s decision to retire from the band due to the challenges with his health. We have watched Mick manage his Ankylosing Spondylitis for decades and he has always managed it with utmost courage and grace.

During an interview with “Artists on Record Starring Adika Live!”, Don Dokken opened up about what he felt for Mick Mars. The details as shared by Ultimate Guitar and transcribed by Blabbermouth, state the following:
I really love him and I feel terrible, because my brother, who’s 18 months younger than me, has ankylosing spondylitis. So your spine fuses together. It’s very painful. And I don’t know how he got through that farewell Mötley tour.
I saw him four times. He had his own bus, but they got morphine bags. He had a private nurse. It was like a hospital room in his bus. And I really had to… Even when I think about it now, I started getting teary eyed. It choked me up, ’cause I loved Mick, and I was, like, ‘Man, this sucks. This just sucks.’
