Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun have picked up the ‘Worst Director’ award at the 2023 Golden Raspberry Awards for their stoner comedy, ‘Good Mourning’.
Nicknamed ‘The Razzies’, the YouTube-hosted awards annually commemorates the “worst” in film.
This year, the film from Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun – real names Colson Baker and Derek Smith, respectively – was nominated in almost all the award’s categories.
‘Good Mourning’ follows a film star named London Clash, played by MGK, whose life is thrown off-course after receiving a breakup text from his girlfriend.
The film has received just 3.1 out of 10 on IMDB and 0 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
One reviewer, Natalia Keogan for Paste Magazine wrote of the film that its “script is lackluster to its very core, predicated on a plot that’s so paltry that it struggles to carry the film over what should be a breezy 93-minute runtime.”
Other winners at this year’s 43rd Razzie awards included Tom Hanks for his role of Elvis Presley’s real-life former manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the Baz Luhrmann-directed ‘Elvis’, and the Marilyn Monroe drama ‘Blonde’, which was given both ‘Worst Picture’ and ‘Worst Screenplay’ awards.
