“It Would Be A Lot Of Fun”

Blood Has Been Shed played their final show at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival in 2005, and hasn’t released any new music since 2003. Blood Has Been Shed‘s final lineup included vocalist Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage, Sion, Light The Torch) and drummer Justin Foley (Killswitch Engage), as well as guitarist Corey Unger and bassist John Lynch.

In an interview with the Brewtally Speaking podcast, Foley was asked if a Blood Has Been Shed reunion could possibly happen at the recently-reactivated Milwaukee Metal Fest. Foley said he ultimately has no idea, but he’d like to see it happen at some point. He also points out that it’s insane people still ask about a reunion considering how long it’s been since Blood Has Been Shed was active.

“I don’t know. I have no idea. I hear from Corey occasionally in bursts. Sometimes I don’t hear from him for a while and other times he’s calling me every week or so, and just talking about stuff he’s thinking about, and it’s like, all right.

“Obviously it’s difficult. I live far away. He’s super busy working and I have all whatever nonsense that I have going on [and] Howard is doing like six million projects right now, which is awesome. So yeah, who knows? I mean it would be really fun and it would take a lot of work to get that stuff ready to play in front of people. That would be one of the things that would just have to… it couldn’t be a sudden thing. That shit was hard and I haven’t played [it] in a while. So it would take some time and it would take like actual, legit long rehearsal periods to get that stuff ready.

“It would be a lot of fun. I’m very surprised whenever anybody mentions it though because we played so long ago, first of all. I don’t know when our last show exactly was, but it would probably either [2004 or 2003], something in that area. So it’s been a really, really long time and it’s not like we were selling out arenas or headlining tours or anything when we were playing. So it’s always funny to me when there’s interest on things that there was some interest on before, but now it seems like there’s more, for whatever reason. Who knows?”

Interviewer Jon Beatty later brings up that a seemingly good way to a Blood Has Been Shed reunion would be as a one-fest festival thing, to which Foley responds “That would be a great way to do it.” So here’s hoping, right?
